Engaging students in learning

Image
There will be different activities that I will be using in my classroom that can engage my students in learning. One activity that I will be using is Kahoot. Kahoot is a website that has hundreds of different fun practice tests/quizzes for students. The students have a set time limit to answer each question when the time runs out or all the students answer the question, it will mark the correct answer green and the wrong one's red. Sometimes there will be multiple answer choices. At the end of each question, you can see a top 5 leaderboard for the students with the most points. During the game, you earn points depending on if you get the answer correct and how fast you answer it. When the Kahoot ends, it will show the top three from 1st to 3rd place. For the top 5 at the end, I will give out either a piece of candy or possible extra credit points that can go towards the next test or quiz in class. Kahoot has different ways that students can play. There is all the students play alon

Traditional and cutting-edge technology tools

In my classroom, I will implement the use of technology in different ways for my students for them to learn. I will be using Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. Using those different applications can help my students learn in different ways. Giving an assignment for my students to make a PowerPoint presentation and present it to the class, will help them how to work in a group together. I can also use Kahoot as a fun interactive activity for my students to take little practice tests.   This is an interactive whiteboard. I would have different worksheets up on the screen and have my students come up and answer one question each on the worksheet.   These are clicker systems. The students can select an answer choice like A, B, C, or D. They would also have an option for true or false questions. This will help me record all of my students' responses easier instead of having them raise their hands.

Welcome to my blog. I am 19 years old and in college. I am majoring in special education teaching. In this blog, I will be talking about my educational philosophy, how I plan to teach and engage students in learning, and how I will integrate traditional and cutting-edge technology tools in my classroom. I will be using technology in different ways in my classroom to make sure my students are engaged during class time. I want my students to enjoy going to school every day.
